My last day at CLRI

It has been an amazing one month at CLRI. I’ve learnt more than I ever hoped to. The knowledge I have gained is not limited to chemical engineering or process design, I have learnt much about how scientists work, about what it actually means to be a scientist. I could see the workplace ethics they follow, the conflicts, the clashes and the patch-ups that follow.
Perhaps the most important things I’ve obtained are the contact details of Dr R C Panda. I now have one more person to turn to for counsel when I’m in doubt about my career. His vast knowledge and immense experience is an amazingly powerful asset for an engineer in the making.
I had a very good time compiling my report which turned out to be quite impressive. The joy in trying new things all by yourself, is incomparable to learning in a classroom and I’m glad I’ve had that experience. I’m quite satisfied with the work I did here. Unlike my peers I haven’t wasted my time and that must count for something.
