Mind and Body – My Tryst with Yoga

I’ve previously mentioned Share Your Hands (SYH) in my posts. It is a student-run non profit organisation based in SASTRA University. This week, SYH kicked off yet another laudable effort for the welfare of society at large.
With SYH acting as the conduit once more, SASTRA students who regularly practice yoga have been mobilised to impart their knowledge to other willing students. Daily yoga sessions shall be held outside my hostel from 6 AM to 6:30 AM.
I slept at 12 AM last night and woke up at 5 30 AM in the morning to attend the yoga session. On any other day, five and half hours of sleep would turn me into a zombie (or worse, a caffeinated zombie!) but after the yoga session in the morning, I felt so energetic!
Further, I am relieved that there exists an acceptable measure of flexibility in my body. I remember a time when I was such a bendy kid! Initially, I had my doubts about whether I could actually do anything.
My dad always chided me saying I never did anything completely, I always disagreed but then again many of my endeavours did seem unfinished or incomplete at that time. I’ve improved much now, I hope to attend these sessions regularly.
